New Publication: Establishing a Statewide CHW Infrastructure for Health Equity in Emergencies

HTQL is pleased to announce a new publication in BMC Health Services Research:
“Incorporating Community-Engaged Research into a Statewide Community Health Worker–Driven Infrastructure for Addressing Health Disparities in Public Health Emergency.”

This paper describes the development and application of a statewide Community Health Worker–driven model in Indiana as a framework for integrating community-engaged research into public health emergency preparedness. It outlines the collaborative process for training and supporting CHWs to lead district-level health equity action planning.

This initiative was conducted in collaboration with HTQL, researchers from Pharmacy, the Purdue Center for Health Excellence Quality and Innovation (CHEQI), the Purdue Community Health Workforce Development Institute (CHWDI), and the Indiana Department of Health Office of Minority Health.
