Dr. Natalia Rodriguez Receiving Awards at APHA 2025

Great news after great news! 🎉

We’re celebrating Dr. Natalia on receiving the Ayman El-Mohandes Young Professional Public Health Innovation Award from APHA 2025. The award was presented by Dr. Ayman El-Mohandes himself, the internationally recognized public health leader for whom the award is named.

Dr. Natalia’s pioneering work exemplifies true interdisciplinarity, integrating public health, biomedical innovation, and community partnership to reduce cancer disparities in medically underserved Hispanic immigrant communities. Her career has been dedicated to addressing breast and ceIrvical cancer inequities using human-centered and culturally responsive approaches.

Her contributions include:

  • Implementing SARS-CoV-2 rapid antigen testing in a homeless shelter
  • Securing a prestigious NIH grant to expand access to HPV self-sampling and rapid cervical cancer testing in underserved immigrant communities

We’re so proud!!
