Improving HIV Testing for High-Risk Populations

We are applying a CBPR-HCD model to inform the implementation of a novel HIV rapid diagnostic test being developed by the Linnes Lab in high-risk populations of people who inject drugs (PWID) in Indiana. In partnership with key community-based organizations that serve the homeless and other vulnerable populations, we are examining the specific challenges and barriers to HIV testing and care, and are working to understand their needs and preferences for different testing modalities (self-, peer-based, and CHW-led testing).
