We’re excited to bring the Indiana Human-Centered Design for Health Seminar Series back for a third year.
This Year’s Theme is The Journey Behind the Impact: personal stories of change, growth, and impact in human-centered design.
The first two years of the series focused on building the foundations of human-centered design – understanding what HCD is and learning how to use and practice it well. Year 3 turns inward. Rather than focusing solely on project outcomes, this series celebrates the stories behind meaningful human-centered design. Through personal reflections, project experiences, and lessons learned, speakers will explore not only the impact their work has had on people and communities, but also how that work has shaped them as researchers and practitioners. Together, we’ll look back to better understand the paths we’ve traveled, and use those insights to inspire where we go next.

Kicking Off With Dr. William Bennett
Our first session is Friday, September 4, featuring Dr. William Bennett of the IU School of Medicine. As he put it:
“Human-centered design is our best tool to give patients and their caregivers substantive agency in what research is performed and how it is implemented and used.”
Join us to hear more about his journey in HCD!
The series runs quarterly on the first Friday of the month. Stay up to date on upcoming sessions and find recordings of past ones at https://healthtechquitylab.org/hcd-seminar/.
